ECE's master LDAP server went down on April 1 at 16:04 for uncertain reasons. It was restarted, and service was restored on April 2 at 09:50. We are currently working on replacing the master LDAP server with a newer machine.

As a result of this failure, the UBC_ECE domain controller was rejecting all logon requests and network drive access. Also, any attempts to change your password would have been unsuccessful.

Update 2013-04-02 12:30

We have noticed that the master LDAP server was not propagating changes to the slave LDAP servers. As a result, password changes and account creation have not been working in the last few hours. We are currently investigating.

Update 2013-04-03 09:30

A new master LDAP server has been put into service. If you have tried to change your password within the past day, but are unable to log in, please try changing your password again.

Update 2013-04-04 14:40

It has been discovered that the new LDAP server was missing some automounter entries. If you are unable to access your home directory on a Linux workstation, you will need to restart the autofs service (by reboot it, if you don't have root privileges).
