Revision as of 15:09, 22 February 2014

The ECE Engineering Services and IT Support Team have confirmed that ECE MATLAB use periodically exceeds the total number of licenses available on the departmental MATLAB licensing server.

What happens if I can't obtain a license from the license manager?
MATLAB start-up will fail, and you will not be able to use the software. You may receive an error message similar to the one below:

License checkout failed.
License Manager Error -4
Maximum number of users for MATLAB reached. Try again later.
To see a list of current users use the lmstat utility or contact your License Administrator.

You may continue using your installation of MATLAB, but you may periodically encounter the error shown above.
