Scope: Affects all ECE Debian Linux-based servers & workstations
Reason: In an effort to accommodate default shell expectations for some CAD software, the IT Support Team intends to modify the default shell from dash to bash. End-user impacts are estimated to be minimal, and this action is classified as low risk. Please see the following articles for additional context

As a reminder, good scripting practice includes an explicit declaration of the shell required. Non-standard scripting calling /bin/sh may result in undesirable behaviour.
