Matlab license server and Teamshare inaccessible (May 1, 2017)

Multiple services, including Teamshare (teamshare.ead.ubc.ca) and the campus MATLAB license server (slms-smatlabp1.ead.ubc.ca) were inaccessible to ECE users earlier today.

It has been determined that the incident was a result of the ECE firewall upgrade (Apr 30, 2017), such that DNS lookups would fail. We have reconfigured our department nameservers to work around the firewall issue while we continue to investigate the root cause of the outage.
