If you require root access to a server or workstation managed by ECE IT, please submit a service request (see How To Report A Problem) containing the following information and provide supervisor approval:

  • Supervisor's Name: [SUPERVISOR'S NAME]
  • Your Name: [FULL NAME]
  • ECE Account ID: [ACCOUNT ID]
  • Server's Hostname: [HOSTNAME]

The use of all department computing resources is subject to UBC's policies, in particular Policy SC14 (Acceptable Use and Security of UBC Electronic Information and Systems).
